1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing, browsing, or using the Site in any way, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

If you are accessing the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. In that case, “you” and “your” refer to both you individually and that organisation.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for HR professionals, Talent Acquisition specialists, HR Business Partners, and individuals with a professional interest in human resources. You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

3. Intellectual property

Ownership

All content published on the Site — including articles, frameworks, methodologies, templates, checklists, data visualisations, graphics, logos, taglines, brand names, and source code — is the intellectual property of HR Insights Lab unless explicitly stated otherwise (the “Material”).

This includes, but is not limited to, proprietary frameworks and named methodologies developed and published by HR Insights Lab. These frameworks are original intellectual property and may not be reproduced, renamed, or repurposed without written permission.

Trademarks

“HR Insights Lab,” “People Science, Applied.,” the HR Insights Lab logo, and all associated brand elements are trademarks of HR Insights Lab. You may not use these trademarks without prior written consent, except as permitted for fair use (e.g., referencing the brand name in a review or citation).

What you may do

  • Read, share, and link to articles on the Site with proper attribution.
  • Quote brief excerpts (up to 200 words) with clear attribution to “HR Insights Lab” and a direct link to the original article.
  • Use downloadable templates and checklists for your own professional use, subject to the terms of each resource.

What you may not do

  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute full articles or substantial portions of content without written permission.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content from the Site.
  • Remove or alter copyright notices, author attributions, or source citations.
  • Use HR Insights Lab content to train machine learning models, language models, or AI systems without explicit written authorisation.
  • Frame, mirror, or create derivative works from the Site or its content.
◆ Lab note

We built this content to be shared and discussed — not locked behind a paywall. If you want to reference, syndicate, or translate an article, reach out to us. We are more likely to say yes than you think. What we will not tolerate is uncredited reproduction or AI scraping.

4. Permitted use

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Site for personal and professional informational purposes. This licence does not include the right to:

  • Use the Site or its content for any commercial purpose without written consent (e.g., selling, licensing, or monetising our content).
  • Access the Site through automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) unless you are a recognised search engine.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers, or connected systems.

5. Prohibited conduct

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Post, transmit, or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or interfere with the Site’s functionality.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Site’s software or infrastructure.
  • Use the Site to collect personal information about other users without their consent.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s servers, networks, or connected infrastructure.
  • Engage in any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law.

HR Insights Lab reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these prohibitions, without prior notice.

6. User-generated content & comments

Your responsibility

The Site may allow you to post comments, feedback, or other content (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for any User Content you submit. By posting User Content, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to share it, and that it does not violate any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

Licence you grant us

By submitting User Content, you grant HR Insights Lab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your User Content in connection with the Site and its promotion. You retain ownership of your User Content.

Moderation

We reserve the right — but are not obligated — to review, edit, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion, for any reason, including content that we determine to be:

  • Spam, promotional, or irrelevant to the discussion.
  • Hateful, discriminatory, abusive, or personally attacking.
  • Misleading, factually false, or intentionally deceptive.
  • Violating the intellectual property rights of a third party.
  • Containing personal data of others shared without consent.
◆ Lab note — Our comment philosophy

HR Insights Lab is built for practitioners who value substantive discussion. Disagreement is welcome. Data-backed pushback is encouraged. Personal attacks and low-effort comments are not. We moderate to protect signal quality, not to suppress dissent.

7. Newsletter & email communications

When you subscribe to the HR Insights Lab newsletter, you agree to receive periodic emails containing articles, insights, updates, and related content. Here is what we commit to:

  • Opt-in only: We never add you to our email list without your explicit consent.
  • Unsubscribe at any time: Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We honour all unsubscribe requests within 48 hours.
  • No third-party sharing: Your email address is never sold, rented, or shared with third-party marketers.
  • Frequency: We respect your inbox. Expect content at a reasonable cadence — not daily spam.

By subscribing, you acknowledge that email delivery depends on factors outside our control (spam filters, server availability). We do not guarantee delivery of every email.

8. Downloadable resources

HR Insights Lab may offer downloadable resources including templates, checklists, frameworks, and guides (collectively, “Resources”). These Resources are provided for your personal and professional use only, subject to the following:

  • Personal/Professional use: You may use Resources within your organisation for internal purposes.
  • No redistribution: You may not sell, sublicense, or redistribute Resources to third parties, whether modified or unmodified.
  • No white-labelling: You may not remove HR Insights Lab branding from Resources and present them as your own.
  • Modification for internal use: You may adapt Resources to suit your organisation’s needs, provided they remain for internal use only.

If you wish to use Resources in a commercial training programme, conference presentation, or publication, please contact us for written permission.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, research reports, tools, and services. These links are provided for reference and convenience only. HR Insights Lab does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any linked third-party site.

Your use of third-party websites is governed by their respective terms and policies. We recommend reviewing those before providing any personal information or making any purchases.

Where we reference third-party research, data, or reports, we cite sources in accordance with our editorial standards. A citation does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by the cited source.

10. Disclaimers

⚠ Important

Please read this section carefully. It limits our liability to you.

General disclaimer

The Site and all content, resources, and services provided through it are offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

HR Insights Lab expressly disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.

Professional advice disclaimer

Content published on the Site is intended for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, medical, or professional HR consulting advice. While we strive for accuracy and ground our content in data and practitioner experience, every organisation’s circumstances are unique.

You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on information found on the Site. Reliance on any content is at your own risk.

No guarantee of results

Frameworks, strategies, and metrics shared on the Site are drawn from real-world practice and verified data. However, we do not guarantee that applying any strategy or framework will produce the same results in your organisation. Outcomes depend on organisational context, execution quality, market conditions, and many other factors.

Availability

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without prior notice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HR Insights Lab, its founder, contributors, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
  • Business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
  • Personal injury or property damage arising from your use of the Site.
  • Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or transmissions.
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the content.
  • Any third-party conduct or content accessed through the Site.

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise), even if HR Insights Lab has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HR Insights Lab, its founder, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of the Site or its content.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third party’s rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Any User Content you submit to the Site.

HR Insights Lab respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@hrinsightslab.com containing the following:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The URL or location on the Site where the allegedly infringing material is located.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will investigate all legitimate claims and take appropriate action, which may include removing the disputed content.

14. Modifications to these terms

HR Insights Lab reserves the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where changes are significant, we may also notify newsletter subscribers via email.

Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

15. Severability & waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

The failure of HR Insights Lab to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any term shall not be deemed a further or continuing waiver of that term or any other term.

16. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration under the rules of a recognised arbitration body mutually agreed upon by both parties. The language of arbitration shall be English.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to protect intellectual property rights or prevent irreparable harm.
